This January we return to Dharma Yoga--what is becoming Austin's premiere yoga studio--for a three-day intensive. You'll deepen your perception as a writer, engage language with your whole body, and encounter the physical world as metaphorical muse.

Friday, January 19, 7-10 p.m.  Smudged Windows: The Wonder of a Writer's Perception

"To see and to hear clearly, knowledge must be kept in the books and not in the mind," wrote J.Krishnamurti.  This opening session helps you clear  mental patterns that "smudge" your perception so you can write with wonder. The Friday session is highly recommended for writers unfamiliar with Jeff's work and who plan to attend either the Saturday and/or Sunday sessions.

Saturday, January 20, 2-6 p.m. Earth Tongue: Re-Spelling Forgotten Words

Each word possesses a potentially magic combination of sounds.  This session invites you to re-awaken yourself and your audiences to language's potency.  Weather permitting, this session may take us outdoors, so please dress accordingly.

NOTE: We will meet at Casa de Luz for the Saturday session.

Sunday, January 21, 2-6 p.m. On the Borderlands: Landscape & Urbanscape as Metaphor

The physical world and the psychic world both mirror and shape one another.  This session engages you directly with immediate surroundings as a way to write with organic metaphor and symbol.  Weather permitting, this session may take us outdoors, so please dress accordingly.

All sessions include a seamless weaving of dialogue regarding pertinent yogic principles; yoga skillful means such as asana, breath work, & meditation; readings by renown writers in various genres; and experiential writing exercises that blend yoga with writing. Sign up soon before it fills up.
