Yoga as Muse for Authentic Writing

The Ultimate Responsibility of Mindful Risk-Taking
What is our ultimate responsibility in this life? What do we do when our soul seems to call us to do something that flies in the face of social convention? That seems to be "irresponsible"? How do we find the resources and means to take the risks necessary to answer that soulful calling? The Journey to wonder often leads us to this archetypal crossroads, the existential junction, where we feel as if we must choose between continuing to travel through this life as we have been doing--chugging, churning, burning away--or doing something radical.

My own journey has led me to the living rooms of several people who have chosen the latter. They have assumed the ultimate responsibility--to be responsible for creating their own fate. People who, by responding out of principle, out of their soul's yearning, out of some intuitive calling, have chosen to co-create their destinies for better or worse.  What happens to us spiritually when we take such leaps? What happens to us physiologically and neurologically when we take such life-altering risks? How do we reconcile the issue of "responsibility" when doing what appears to others to be selfish? Learn more about the Ultimate Responsibility Gatherings and Workshops below. Learn, too, how you can get involved in the Mindful Risk-Taking Book Project.

The Yoga of Mindful & Wondrous Risk-Taking
The embodied mind speaks a subtle language often more attuned to our deep, soulful yearnings than is the intellect's language. Our embodied minds function in different ways for different situations. The analytical mind--stimulated from specific brain regions--helps us efficiently make clear, unambiguous decisions. Our intuitive embodied mind, however, can help us make existentially complex and ambiguous decisions with certainty and confidence. This mind often speaks in images, symbols, flashes, glimpses of insight, and faint phrases. It also speaks through the body in twitches, subtle sensations, and even illness and disease.

Studies in Scandanavia and elsewhere are demonstrating how certain yoga tools and practices can help people make complex life-altering decisions and creative decisions efficiently.
Yoga's myriad means--skillfully designed sequences of poses, breathwork, concentration tools, meditation tools, and visualization tools--has helped numerous people (artists and accountants, preachers and poets) take the risks necessary to live authentically.

The Ultimate Responsibility of Mindful Risk-Taking: Coaching, Workshops, and Gatherings
Ultimate Responsibility Coaching is a no-nonsense approach to helping people learn how to live authentically and to take the risks they sense their soul beckons them to take. This coaching process offers individuals the tools to gain the confidence, courage, and--especially--intuition needed to navigate radical risk-taking.

Through dialogue, specifically designed yoga sequences, breathwork, imagination, meditation, and writing, we discover your core authentic need and how to manifest it. You learn how to trust your body and imagination for signs--as have other risk-takers. You learn how to work through common risk-taker dilemmas such as those associated with "responsibility"--responsibiity to the Self and responsibility to others. For queries and more information, send an email to jeffdavis@centertopage.com with "coaching" in the subject box.

In 2005-06, the Ultimate Responsibility Workshops will be offered nationally. If you're interested in attending one of these workshops, send an email to info@centertopage.com with "Risk-Taking Workshop" in the subject box.

In 2005-06, Ultimate Responsibility Gatherings will be held for small groups of people who have assumed the ultimate responsibility for their lives and have taken mindful risks. These informal moderated gatherings allow people to share parts of their stories, to find common ground with others, and to establish mutual support among others on this journey. The first gathering will be held in Dallas in January 2005. Other gatherings will follow in New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington, D.C.
